"Martyr's Fire" is the third book in the Merlin's Immortals series. Sigmund Brouwer has created a book that keeps you guessing, and the pages turning. Written during the early AD 1300's you are brought into the time period of knights and lords. From the perspective's of peasants to knights, from ladies to outlaws many adventures await you!
The main character, Thomas, is the new earl of Magnus, but it is soon over taken by the Priest of the Holy Grail, who are undercover Druids. Thomas escapes and is on a mission to take back Magnus, but he meets two people from his past. People of the secret circle of Immortals. The Immortals are a group of people started by Merlin, and they try to stop the Druids from overtaking all good, for the Druids are evil men.
Can Thomas succeed in his mission of claiming back what is rightfully his? Or will the Druids find Thomas before the Immortals can save him?
I was a bit iffy about this book before I started to read this book. As my first book by Sigmund Brouwer I had no idea about his style of writing, or how the story would turn out. I am happy to say that it was a very good read. I have been wanting to read some more books with knights and ladies and I was very pleased with the turnout of this book. I haven't read the first two, but for me personally I was okay to not read it in order, but if you get the opportunity I would definitely suggest to read the first two. Over all I would say that this book was five out of five stars.
