Queen

Summary: Fantasy inspired by the Book of Esther…

Bel-Tygeon, the fallen god-king of Belaal, has bowed to the Infinite and accepted life as a mortal. Now he is desperate to return to his kingdom. Hunted by his enemies, he accepts refuge among the Eosyths, at the bidding of Serena of Clan Darom. But Serena and her family are also Bel-Tygeon’s enemies, and he must conceal his true name and royal rank from them—even when he realizes that Serena is the woman he has sought for years. The woman he loves. The woman he longs to proclaim as his queen.
Yet she can never be his.
Serena of Clan Darom wants nothing more than to protect her family and to save her people, the Eosyths, from their many enemies. She cannot afford to fall in love with a madman. A stranger. Yet honor dictates that she must shelter Ty and protect him with her life. Will one act of kindness destroy everything she’s worked for and believed?
And how can the unknowable Infinite, worshiped by her lord-father, ever help her in their struggle to survive?
Child of Dust, are you My servant?

This is the second book I have read by R J Larson, and I must say that I really liked Queen. The story and characters were wonderfuly written, and I enjoyed this second book in the series. The author does an excellent job keeping the story moving and exciting. I couldn't put the book down, and I must say that any reader who loves fantasy and Biblical fiction, will love this book.
For those who have already read some of R J Larson's works, you will not be disappointed. And for new readers; A retelling mix of the Bible stories, you will find a new way to look at Biblical fiction.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars

Over the Bridge

Zane is the second oldest out of three brothers. As he continues on in the race across Liberty, Zane and his best friend Jovan are searching for one more person for their team. At their first waypoint, they hear a rumor about a blacksmith who wants to move west. A visit to the forge brings one surprise after another, and as the two cousins and their new companion travel on, myths and legends come to life.

Book Three is about the second oldest brother, Zane. He is quiet, keeps to himself, and VERY adventurous. As he is looking for another traveling partner, the blacksmith who is wanting to go out West is not exactly what he was expecting.
I've read the first two books in C J Milbrandt's Byway series, and they have been very entertaining and adventurous. I read them over and over as I traveled across the country, and loved it. The book is geared to newer readers, but any book lover will enjoy this adventure. Mythical creatures, a race, and an unexpected companion make this book a must read for any adventurer. I definitely suggest the Byway series to readers of any age.
I would rate this book 5 out 5 stars.

DragonSpell

Summary:
Once a slave, Kale is given the unexpected opportunity to become a servant to Paladin. Yet this young girl has much to learn about the difference between slavery and service.
A small band of Paladin's servants rescue Kale from danger but turn her from her destination: The Hall, where she was to be trained. Feeling afraid and unprepared, Kale embarks on a perilous quest to find the meech dragon egg stolen by the foul wizard Risto. First, she and her comrades must find Wizard Fenworth. But their journey is threatened when a key member of the party is captured, leaving the remaining companions to find Fenworth, attempt an impossible rescue, and recover the egg whose true value they have not begun to suspect...
Weaving together memorable characters, daring adventure, and a core of eternal truth, Dragonspell is a finely crafted and welcome addition to the corpus of fantasy fiction.

I just picked up a copy of DragonSpell the other day. I have only read one of Donita K. Paul's book, One Realm Beyond, which was ok, but the Dragon Keeper Series looked pretty interesting. A five book series, the main character is on a journey of new life and adventure.
I loved how the author entwined spiritual truths and lessons of a Christian. The fight between good and evil, the enemy twisting his lies into what sounds like truth, a loving master. Though many deceptions come there way, their commitment to Wulder will help them see the truth.
I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, exciting, and kept me glued to the pages. I would suggest this book to any who loves dragons, and adventure.

I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
