Dandelion Dust Blog Tour

Displaying image1.JPG

I am so excited to be taking part in Faith's blog tour. She is releasing her first book, Dandelion Dust. Faith is such an amazing writer, and am so privileged to not only know her from the writing community, but to have had the chance to beta read for her as well.

Guys, this book is amazing. When I first started to read Dandelion Dust, it was probably best that I didn't read it as soon as I got my e-copy. As soon as I started reading, I had this feeling of deja vu. One of the character's had an experience just like one of my aunts. She had just gotten in an ATV accident a day or two before I started reading this book. One of the important supporting character's was in an ATV accident and was in the hospital for most of the story. The whole time I was reading this book, I had to continue on. I connected with it right away, and the characters were adorable. The story is not only realistic, but shows you a side that many books often don't go over. How you work through your difficulties together as a family, trusting God (no matter how hard it can be) in times of struggle.
All that to say that you should pick up a copy. If you love sweet romance, family, and stories of relationships that work through hardship, than you need to give Dandelion Dust a try.

Summary:
Like a speck of dandelion dust riding the tides of a prairie wind, life is fleeting. Though I never realized just how fragile it was until that day . . .

Charity always had a dream. It was simple, really. Find a guy, fall in love, and get married.
The day she met Ryder, Charity knew he was the man God had chosen for her. But she never expected their relationship to be tested and tried through the fires of a freak accident. Suddenly, her world is thrown into chaos, and the bleak, white walls and sterile smells of a city hospital fill every spare minute. And then there comes the dreaded news. It was likely Ryder would never make it out of the hospital bed.
As her carefully laid plans for the future come crashing down around her and the sun seems to set on her dreams, can Charity still find hope in the dark of night?

Like a dandelion, life is beautiful. But treasure every moment. . . . for one day, the flower will be gone.

The Noble Servant

The Noble Servant

Summary:
She lost everything to the scheme of an evil servant.
But she might just gain what she’s always wanted . . .
if she makes it in time.
The impossible was happening. She, Magdalen of Mallin, was to marry the Duke of Wolfberg. Magdalen had dreamed about receiving a proposal ever since she met the duke two years ago. Such a marriage was the only way she could save her people from starvation. But why would a handsome, wealthy duke want to marry her, a poor baron’s daughter? It seemed too good to be true.
On the journey to Wolfberg Castle, Magdalen’s servant forces her to trade places and become her servant, threatening not only Magdalen’s life, but the lives of those she holds dear. Stripped of her identity and title in Wolfberg, where no one knows her, Magdalen is sentenced to tend geese while she watches her former handmaiden gain all Magdalen had ever dreamed of.
When a handsome shepherd befriends her, Magdalen begins to suspect he carries secrets of his own. Together, Magdalen and the shepherd uncover a sinister plot against Wolfberg and the duke. But with no resources, will they be able to find the answers, the hiding places, and the forces they need in time to save both Mallin and Wolfberg?
New York Times bestselling author Melanie Dickerson beautifully re-imagines The Goose Girl by the Brothers Grimm into a medieval tale of adventure, loss, and love.

Review: I've looked forward to reading The Noble Servant since it was set in the world where we had previously met the Margrave. This book continued on with a character we in the past book, Magdelen. She is a daughter of a poor baron, who died, and is now given the chance to marry someone who will provide for her and her people. But after she arrives as a servant instead of a bride, she realizes that there is more going on than just a wedding to be announced, or her former servants trickery. Now tended the geese, she keeps a careful eye on those around her, and the one she was said to be betrothed too. But once she meets a man who she thinks she recognizes, it is only so long before the lord of the castle finds out who else faking their identity.
I love the setting of these books; I can almost imagine the castles and villages mentioned and are "placed" throughout Germany. Though not my favorite book by Melanie Dickerson, I did enjoy this book, and though I have never read "The Goose Girl," I look forward to discovering this "new" fairytale.
If you are looking for a sweet, easy read, The Noble Servant is a great story for any tween to read.

I hadn't even had this book for a full day before God used this devotional to speak to me. I had opened it up to a random page, and its lesson was based on something I had been thinking about only a couple hours before. It encouraged me so much.
How awesome is out God!

King's Blood

King's Blood (The Kinsman Chronicles, #2)

Summary: In the second volume of Jill Williamson's Kinsman Chronicles, a remnant has escaped the destruction of the Five Realms and now lives on several hundred ships adrift at sea. As a flock, they sail north into the unknown in hopes of finding land that might become their new home.
As the king's illness worsens, SAr Wilek takes authority over the expedition and struggles to rule the disjointed people, while assassination attempts, vicious serpents, and dark magic endanger his life.
One prophecy has come to pass, but another looms dauntingly in the future. Who is this Deliverer? And if the Magonians have him, what might that mean for the realm of Armania?

Review: Would you believe I ended up with three copies of this book before I finally read it? I know, crazy XD Not even sure how I ended up with one of them lol.
I loved Jill Williamson's Blood of Kings series, and was excited to start the Kinsman Chronicles, which take place a few hundred years before. In this book, the Armanians and others are searching for a new land, but there is a danger that is chasing after them.

I love all the characters. My favorite is probably T, but I have loved all the characters Jill has introduced. There were a few different perspectives at the beginning of the series, but as the story goes along, it was just fine keeping in sinc with perspectives changing. The descriptions the author uses to let you experience the land and the people. They aren't long and droning explanations that take forever, but just enough to where she can bring it up every now and then to give you a reminder of what something may look like or how something works. (it's a big book, so it's easy to forget details) Also, How Jill writes series this huge is impressive. I love them and have no clue how I could write anything as large and as amazing as hers. I also love how the books are based of the Old Testament. I loved reading a scene and then being like "I know what story/scene this is based off of!" Her writing also gives you a different experience, and I must say I loved it. I'm looking forward to her next book.

I wouldn't suggest this book for younger readers. There is a lot of darkness in the first and second books, along with many different gods and demons. So an older teen audience for sure. (the author suggests it for 16 and up I believe)

A Question of Honor

Displaying A Question of Honor Blog Tour.jpg

I am very excited to take part in my friend's book release. A Question of Honor is now available for purchase, and I cannot wait to get my hands on an actual print copy of it. I was given the privileged to beta read for Jesseca, and I have to say I loved the story so much. It is set in WW2, and has wonderful characters, and a sweet story line. I encourage you to read it, and you may get a chance as there is a giveaway link at the bottom.

About the author:Jesseca is an 18-year old daughter, sister, and a child of God. Her days are spent reading, cooking, spending time with siblings, or playing piano.  And writing, of course! At an early age words fascinated her, and her love for the printed page has only grown. She lives with her parents and seven siblings in the sunny state of Kansas, and she’s convinced there’s no place like home.

About the book:A man. A child. A war.

When German soldiers invade France during World War II, young Joyanna's perfect world is shattered. In the hands of those who hate her, she battles to comprehend why people can be so ruthless and cold toward those whom they have never met.

David Sullivan, pilot in the Royal Air Force, was certain he would never hate, but a painful loss forces him to either reconsider or do the inconceivable—forgive. He is suddenly challenged by the realization that doing God's will is not easy, but most important. With the lives of freedom-fighters relying on him, he must learn the difficult lesson that he is not in control, but merely one who must surrender his heart of obedience to One greater.

A sudden turn of events lands Joyanna and David in the same country—but for far different reasons. When their paths cross, David finds he must make a decision that will affect them both for the rest of their lives.

Will he chose vengeance, or will he let his life be ruled by a higher standard? A standard of Honor.

The Shattered Vigil

Summary:

Their victory over the dark forces during the feast of Bas-solas should have guaranteed safety for the continent. Instead, Willet and the rest of the Vigil discover they've been outsmarted by those seeking to unleash the evil that inhabits the Darkwater. One of the Vigil has gone missing, and new attacks have struck at the six kingdoms' ability to defend themselves.

Worse, a deadly new threat has emerged--assassins hunting the Vigil, men and women who cannot be seen until it's too late. To thwart the perilous new risk, the church makes the drastic decision to safeguard the Vigil by taking the surviving members into protective custody. But there are secrets only the Vigil can unearth, and so Pellin makes the heart-wrenching choice to oppose the church in a race to turn back the evil that threatens an entire continent

Review:
It had been a while since I had read the first book, but once I was refreshed on all of the details and storyline, I was excited to continue reading the next book in the saga.

Willet Dura was one of two who had survived the Darkwater, but he didn't leave untainted. Because of the darkness that is still in his mind, the Vigil do not trust him.

With the dwimnor about, an assassin who is unseen by all except the young, the Vigil take young apprentices to watch for the invisible enemy. But while the Vigil fight to survive, Dura also fights to find out who their enemy really is. Trying to prove that he isn't the enemy, Dura and his companions search for the hope of the protector of the evil in the Darkwater- the Sentinels

The story was just as captivating as last time, and i am eager to what happens next. It left at such a cliffhanger! There is still so much unknown, and I can't wait to find out how the enemy will be fought, but also discover who Dura really is.
