3 Day Quote Tag (DAY 2)

writing tips 10 - killing off characters #2:

I may not look like I'm not doing anything, but I'm quite busy problem-solving, being creative, or just thinking in my head with about 30 tabs open.:
I am constantly dreaming, plotting stories, looking up facts, "researching" (AKA Pinterest), and if I go by just stories alone I have dozens of stories wanting to be told.

.:
We often complain about how hard our life is. As Christians, we were never promised an easy life. We were promised that God would be with us in times of trials.

 :
Such an important truth. Your heart is a precious thing, and you must be on guard against the evils in this world.

3 Day Quote Tag (DAY 1)

Thanks Raechel for tagging me!

Rules:
1. Thank the person who tagged you.
2. Tag 3 people everyday
3. Post a new quote everyday for 3 consecutive days.

Let's get started, shall we?
Don't waste one more minute comparing yourself to other people. This journey is…:
I love this quote because it just reminds me to be me. Don't make yourself to be like others. You are an unique individual who God has created for a purpose. You are here for a reason. You just need to follow God's lead. We often forget and fall away from God's best, but if we continue to go to him we will be just as he wants us.

Great explanation:
This is such a great way to explain faith to someone. The only way you aren't connected is if you don't stay plugged in. You are the one who has to daily refresh your "data". Not anyone else.

.:
And the final quote is of course writing related. :) This is so true for writers -especially for me. I hardly ever stick to the first draft, and most of the story changes. It is more of notes of what I want to happen, and that first step on the long writing journey.

...I'll soon be posting DAY 2 and DAY 3 of the Quote Tag. Have a great weekend!

Forever Doon

Summary:
With the witch of Doon on the throne, Jamie believed dead, and Duncan and Mackenna trapped in Alloway, Veronica has no choice but to put her grief aside and prepare her remaining followers for the impending battle against the false queen and her forces. But while on a covert mission to steal a powerful elixir from the castle, Veronica discovers her true love may actually be alive, and fighting a battle of his own.
With the Brig o’ Doon destroyed and the portal fragmented, Doon’s forces are not only divided, but also isolated in different dimensions. With the help of a storyteller as ancient as the witch herself, Kenna and Duncan learn they must rebuild the bridge to have any chance of crossing back into Doon with their ragtag army. But when Mackenna insists on fighting as well, Duncan soon realizes the only way he can ensure her safety is to turn her into a cold-hearted killer.
For Vee, Jamie, Kenna, and Duncan, saving their kingdom while keeping their lives intact will take a miracle

   This exciting conclusion to the Doon series was well worth the wait, though I am sorry to see the story over. I enjoyed being brought back into the world Carey and Lorie brought to life for all readers to experience. I felt I was right there as the authors weaved together another Doonian tale that told the story from both sides of Bridge o' Doon. I didn't want to rush through the story, and enjoy it as long as I could.

   All the characters were well written: Duncan and Mackenna, Jaimie and Veronica, Fergus and Fiona, were probably more of the well-known characters, and I loved them all- as well as many others. One thing I enjoyed was that the story was told from multiple perspectives. (The McCrae brothers, Veronica, and McKenna.) Not a lot of stories are told from more than two perspectives, but here we got to see the story through the eyes of the four main characters.

 ~Only those who have the bravery and courage can stand together and fight the evil against them.~

   There are surprising twists and turns throughout the story. Many new characters are introduced as well as old. If you love a fantasy, good vs. evil, and the modern world mixed with ancient Scotland, then you must give the Doon series a try.

(I would not suggest this book for young readers due to some scenes in the book)

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars (series: 5 stars overall)

Summer Recap

                                        (my stack of books from this past month.)
Hello everyone!
I am finally home and am so happy to be back in my great little city. (Although the heat here is pretty intense right now) I traveled for a missions trip in Russia for two weeks, and then met my family in Colorado before doing a horse driving camp in Canada. After visiting family and friends along the way, a month later I am about to dive into my senior year of school. Though I've been attacking my reading list pretty heavily this year, I think it might slow down a bit, but we'll see. I finished my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 100 books. (The only downside of the website, is that it doesn't do re-reads. It's got everything else though) I've probably reread about 10 other books that were already in the 100, but it was because they were so good! :) I am also doing the Go Teen Writers 100-for-100 writing challenge. Write 100 words a day (or more) for 100 days straight. Although I haven't been exact every time, the main goal is to write everyday.  I tried to do Camp NaNoWriMo, but I was traveling, so that was a bit hard. I was writing by hand, so I only got around 5,000 when I was aiming for 20,000.
I will have some book reviews coming, as well as some spotlights, so have a good rest of the week and enjoy the pictures!

Remember to Forget

So,  currently I'm in a small town out West,  and thought I'd pop in for a sec to post a quick review.  (Sorry for no image, but I'll come back later and upload one. And also foe the abruptness of the review )

Summary :
IRemember to Forget from Watty Award-winning author Ashley Royer, Levi has refused to speak since the tragic death of his girlfriend, Delia, and can't seem to come out of his depression and hindering self-doubt. Desperate to make some positive change in Levi’s life, his mother sends him to live with his father in Maine. Though the idea of moving from Australia to America seems completely daunting, Levi passively accepts his fate, but once he lands faces personal struggles and self-doubt at the same time he and his dad battle through resentment and misunderstanding. And then, while at therapy, Levi meets Delilah, a girl who eerily reminds him of someone he lost.

                             ~~~~
I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The author did a good job writing the story in first person.  The characters seemed real, and I liked having the two different perspectives of the two main characters.
As for the characters themselves, Levi and Delilah were both wonderful. I loved how when Levi moved, his old and new friends still stood by home even though he kept pushing them away. Delilah was sweet and kind, and I like how she just wants to help people. Caleb and Aiden were some of my favorites as well. The story itself was good. There were some things that could have been added in,  but overall I liked it.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
